School Partnerships & Support

One of the largest gaps in childhood hunger in Central Florida is food resources for students outside of the school cafeteria. Without consistent access to the nutritious food they need to learn, grow and thrive, students are not able to focus in the classroom or reach their full potential. The School Partnerships Program offers a student-centered, stigma-reducing approach to increasing access to nutritious food for students facing hunger. Students can choose from a variety of free snacks, non-perishable grocery items and fresh produce without question of need or eligibility. In middle, high and post-secondary schools, student leaders plan, stock, operate and promote the program on their campuses. This provides opportunities for student growth and development while also reducing stigma. Since 2017, the program has distributed more than 2.6 million meals through a network of around 70 partner schools.
