Advance Senior Center has been serving the community since 2016, beginning with a focus on seniors in Osceola County and now reaching families across Florida and Puerto Rico. Each month, more than 3,000 families turn to the center for nutritious food, resources, and support.
As a Certified Nutritious Pantry, Advance Senior Center stands out for its market-style approach, which allows families to choose the items that best meet their needs. This shift not only reduced food waste but also gave clients dignity and choice, creating a more meaningful experience. Since the pandemic, the center has seen tremendous growth, stepping up to meet the rising demand with compassion and commitment.
One story that continues to inspire the team is that of a mother of two, battling a degenerative disease and denied SNAP benefits for years. The weight of food insecurity left her feeling invisible and hopeless. Through Advance Senior Center’s volunteers and pantry, she found consistent support and encouragement that restored her sense of dignity and worth.
Thanks to strong partnerships with Second Harvest, the Hispanic Federation, and others, Advance Senior Center continues to bring hope, purpose, and belonging to the community. They remind us all that a meal may seem small—but it has the power to change a life.
We at Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida are deeply grateful for Advance Senior Center’s partnership and their unwavering dedication to fighting hunger. Together, we are making a lasting impact for families across our community.
